Senior Electronics Technologist

 

Position Availability:

• Immediate.

Position Summary:

• This position is responsible for installation, repair, maintenance and optimization of communication systems, from component to fully integrated system level. Experience with Motorola two-way radio products and/or wireless data networks will be a definite asset, but is not mandatory.

Job Specifications:

• Demonstrated strength in electronics theory, troubleshooting methods, and at least five years experience in electronics troubleshooting;
• Familiar with the use of tools and test equipment required for system maintenance and optimization;
  Good understanding of network principles and configuration used with LAN/WAN and VoIP communication systems;
• Demonstrated ability to comprehend and to write applicable equipment, system and project documentation;
• Demonstrated customer service and team skills and team skills, ability to comprehend issues accurately, com communicate status and other information effectively, and to maintain focus.

Working Conditions:

• Regular daytime hours, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime and after-hours call requirements.
  
• Work is typically performed in the service shop, in the garage, and at customer locations.
  
• There is occasional requirement for climbing ladders and small masts, hiking into remote locations and other physical activity including lifting up to approximately 60 pounds.
• Technicians are required to have a valid class 5 driver’s license with no driving convictions.
• In order to meet customer requirements the applicant must maintain a clear criminal history, and must be able to meet the security requirements of the Federal Government of Canada.
