Position Availability:
Position Summary:
- This position is responsible for configuration, installation,
repairs, and maintenance of radio communication systems, from components to fully
integrated system level. Experience with Motorola
two-way radio products and/or wireless data networks
will be a definite asset, but is not mandatory.
Job Specifications:
- Demonstrated strength in electronics theory,
troubleshooting methods, and at least five years
experience in electronics troubleshooting;
- Familiar with the use of tools and test
equipment required for system maintenance and
optimization;
Understanding of network principles and
configuration used in LAN/WAN and VoIP/RoIP
communication systems;
- Demonstrated ability to comprehend and to
prepare
applicable documentation for equipment including
system layouts and quick-start user instructions;
- Demonstrated customer service and team skills, ability to comprehend issues
accurately, communicate status and other
information effectively, and to maintain focus.
Working Conditions:
- Regular daytime hours, Monday through Friday
with occasional overtime and after-hours call
requirements.
- Work is typically performed in the service shop,
in the garage, and at customer locations.
There is occasional requirement for climbing
ladders and small masts, hiking into remote
locations and other physical activity including
lifting up to approximately 60 pounds.
- Technical staff are required to have a valid class 5
driver’s license with no driving convictions.
- In order to meet customer requirements the
applicant must maintain a clear criminal history,
and must be able to meet the security requirements
of the Federal Government of Canada.
